GHS cross country teams post perfect scores

Gloucester High School harriers continued to dominate the Peninsula District in their most recent event, with both the boys and the girls posting perfect scores in their race with Woodside on Oct. 13.

Logan Pitchford won the boys’ race with a time of 18:25. Cameron Cross was second in 18:27 and Tyler Price was third in 18:48. Showing the team’s depth, Blake Waters and Tyler Lothian took the fourth and fifth slots, respectively, to shut out the Wolverines. Waters’ time was 19:03 and Lothian posted 19:04.

Elisabeth Drake won the girls’ race in 21:49, followed by teammates Megan Hogge in 22:39, Morganne Roundy in 22:44, Carrie Adams in 23:58 and Ashley Purrington in 24:23. The PD championships were scheduled for today in Newport News Park.
