The Gloucester High School cross country teams competed at the Peninsula District Meet #3 on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Machicomoco State Park, Hayes.

This meet was also Senior Night where seniors Mackenzie Alcorn, Annalise Helton, Zoe Scott, Kayla Turner, Aiden Pincince, Brayden Jackson, Isaac Torres, Joel Taylor, and Justin Sykes celebrated their accomplishments with their teammates and family. 

On the girls’ team, coming in the top 10 in the 5K for the Dukes were Rachel Blittle who placed third with a time of 23:42.83, Kayla Turner placed fourth with a time of 23:52.32, Mackenzie Alcorn placed fifth with a time of 24:54.94, and Sarah Bullins placed sixth with a time of 25:06.17. Coming in afterwards were Olivia Gray (26:06.98), Hannah Broadwell (26:07.69), Zoe Scott (26:11.68), Hailee Jorgensen (26:45.72), Chelsea Shield (27:03.39), Hannah Ridings (27:46.90), Chloe Sylvester (27:47.92), Kandayln Baxley (28:18.63), Stella Scott (28:21.09), Michelle Field (28:28.36), Melanie Mueller (28:31.62), Lacey Donnelly (28:33.41), Camille Reyes (31.51.41), Kaitlyn Parker (32:06.85) and Alexandra Byser (35:30.93). 

Coming in the top 10 for the boys’ team in the 5K were Aiden Pincince who placed second with a time of 17:16.74 and Joel Taylor who placed seventh with a time of 18:48.98. Coming in behind them for the Dukes were Erik Waters (19:54.23), Greyson Clements (20.27.14), Cesar Gomez (20:48.72), Brayden Jackson (21.19.71), Logan McAllister (22:53.61), Jason Coleman (23:20.18), Lincoln Alcorn (23:34.50), Brayl’n Johnson (25:18.01), and Justin Sykes (28:12.91).

The GHS XC teams were scheduled to compete at the Peninsula District Meet #4 at Newport News Park on Wednesday afternoon.
