GHS cross country sweeps Senior Day

The Gloucester High School cross country team had its final home meet last Wednesday, with both the boy’ and girls’ teams sweeping the two other competing teams. It was also Senior Day, giving fans, parents and coaches the chance to acknowledge the Dukes’ six seniors: Lydia Hart, Makala White, Justin Burgess, Austin Ezzell, Liam Skiles and Mikey Toms.

Gloucester ran against Woodside and Kecoughtan high schools. The Dukes owned this meet, with both the boys’ and girls’ teams winning outright.

For the girls, Mya Baker finished in the top spot (22:09), followed by Nicole Pinder (22:13), Emily Shipe (25:14), Cori Morgan (25:24), Lydia Hart (26:11), Jaeda Torres (26:46), Lanie Caldwell (26:52), Layla Angles (27:05), Makala White (27:16), Leah Wise (33:41) and Caitlyn Davis (37:17).
