GHS boys win at Great Meadows

This past week was a collective success for Gloucester cross country runners. On Sept. 25, the Gloucester High School harriers traveled to Riverview Park, home of Menchville, and completed against Menchville, Bethel and Hampton.

On the girls’ side was Layla Angles (26:56), Caitlyn Davis (30:29), Lydia Hart (27:44), and Leah Wise (30:25). Coming in for the boys was Trent Fox (23:35), Jared Fox (24:39), Ethan Gardiner (25:42), Carter Hill (21:47), Owen Hogge (21:45), Ian Waters (22:34) and Colt Kirby (28:16).

On Saturday, Gloucester’s top group of runners traveled to Great Meadows Park in Fauquier. This is the state course on which some Gloucester runners will compete at the State Meet. Despite the early departure time and three-hour journey, the runners ran undeterred.

To start off the day, Mya Baker competed in the JV Freshman/Sophomore race as an eighth grader, placing third with a time of 21:11. In the Junior/Senior race, Nicole Pinder came in 3rd with a time of 21:56....
