GHS boys tie Maury, Hampton; jayvees undefeated

The Gloucester High School varsity boys’ soccer team produced a pair of 1-1 ties in recent action. Playing in Norfolk last Thursday, Maury scored an early goal but the Dukes later scored and the 1-1 tie lasted through overtime.

Playing in Hampton Tuesday, again the Crabbers scored first but within minutes, Chandler Records got the tie when his header deflected off a defender and went in the net.

Gloucester is scheduled to host West Point today and travel to Woodside Friday.

The Gloucester High School junior varsity boys’ soccer team stayed undefeated with a 2-0 win at Menchville on April 10. 

After a scoreless first half, Cameron Bishop opened scoring with a long-flighted ball from the left    that sailed over the Menchville keeper’s head. Gloucester continued to apply pressure and Bishop capitalized on a beautiful service from A.J. Brown to put the game away for the Dukes.
