GHS boys on a five-game streak

The Gloucester High School varsity boys’ soccer team got a huge boost in morale after extending its win streak to five games. 

Last week, the Dukes scored a 3-0 shutout over Kecoughtan with goals from Andrew Coxe, Connor Mahoney and Isaiah Lester; and 4-0 win over Norview, with Coxe (two), Carson Brooks and Chandler Records providing the scoring.

On Monday, the Dukes played Denbigh and left Newport News with yet another shutout win, 4-0. Records, Lester, Wesley Walker and Sam Haley scored the Gloucester goals.

The Dukes had a very slow start to the season playing extremely talented teams when it first began. Although losing many games in the beginning, the Dukes have found their form and are continuously cranking out wins in order to strive for a top-eight spot in their conference to move them to the tournament post-season.
