The Gloucester high school boys’ varsity volleyball team battled Menchville on the home court Monday night, but ultimately fell, 0-3. During the game, William Trueblood had nine kills, six digs, three blocks, and one ace; Brody Sutton had three digs; Jackson Mandell had four kills, one assist, one dig, three blocks and one ace; Jonathan Talbot had one assist and three digs; Bryce Fischer had one kill, 17 assists and two digs; Damien Domenech had one kill, one assist and one block; Carter Thompson had five kills, two assists and one dig and Ryland Shockley had two kills. Both the varsity and junior varsity girls also faced off against their opponents, New Kent, at home on Tuesday. Stats were not available by press time. The GHS boys will host Norfolk Christian on Monday, starting at 6 p.m., with the next home game for the varsity and JV girls will be next Thursday, Oct. 8, against York....
