GHS boys fall to Menchville, 43-41

After beating Menchville on the Monarchs’ court last month, the Gloucester High School varsity boys’ basketball team lost to Menchville, 43-41, on Friday at GHS. The game was tied at 15 at the half, but the Monarchs poured in 18 fourth-quarter points to pull away for the win. 

Gloucester standout Demariyea Sills was held to only seven points in the loss. Jacob Durren and Grayson Womble had 11 and 10 points for the Dukes, respectively, with Womble scoring a pair of three-pointers.

The Gloucester varsity girls continue to look for a win after losing to Menchville, 59-35, on Friday and to Poquoson, 44-33, on Saturday.

The GHS girls and boys play at Hampton Friday and the boys are scheduled to take on visiting Lafayette on Tuesday. ...
