GHS beats Woodside, Heritage

The Gloucester High School varsity baseball team had a successful week, beating both Woodside and Heritage.Against Woodside on Saturday, Gloucester batters collected 12 hits and committed only one error as the Dukes defeated the Wolverines, 7-3. Woodside had a total of five hits and four errors.

Tripp Roady, Jordan Mumford and Cameron Richardson each had two hits out of four at-bats and Colton Smith and Gunner Healey each had two hits out of three at-bats. Gabe Espiritu and Bailey Hudgins pitched the game for Gloucester.

Gloucester traveled to Heritage on Monday and beat its opponent, 11-0. Gloucester had 12 hits and zero errors and Heritage had one hit and five errors.

Smith and Richardson each had two hits out of four at-bats. Daniel Giles had three hits out of three at-bats. Hunter Sturgeon pitched the game for Gloucester.

Gloucester’s team record is eight wins and two losses.
