GHS athletes earn All-District honors

Several Gloucester High School athletes earned Peninsula All-District honors for their achievements in fall sports. Named to the All-District First Team in field hockey were forwards Hannah Joyce, a senior, and freshman Emily Beamer, senior midfielder Morgan Sadler and senior defender Lindsay Lawrence.

Named to the Second Team were freshman forward Courtnie Greene, midfielders senior Anne Delusa and junior Morgan Reed and senior defenders Taylor Babbs and Mariah Vickers. An Honorable Mention went to senior Jordan Gamble.
In girls’ volleyball, senior Melissa Williamson was named the Co-Player of the Year. Williamson was also named to the Peninsula District First Team along with junior Samantha Coates. Named to the Second Team were junior Colleen Lemay and senior Marina Paredes. Senior Dezeray Spencer was named an Honorable Mention. The Lady Dukes finished the regular season in fourth place behind first-place Woodside, Warwick and Menchville.
