The Guinea Heritage Association will host a program on New Point Comfort lighthouse at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28 at the Buck’s Store Museum in Bena. Linda Grow, a member of the GHA Board of Directors, will share some of the photographs and history she has collected about the local landmark since the 1970s, as well as some photos from the Gazette-Journal archives. The public is invited to attend. The 10th oldest standing lighthouse in the U.S., and the third oldest in the Chesapeake Bay, New Point Comfort was commissioned in 1804 by Thomas Jefferson.
