GHA to hold concert, apple sale fundraiser

The Guinea Heritage Association, coming off a big month with Guinea Heritage Day and the Guinea Jubilee, looks to keep the momentum going in October with a pair of fundraisers.

The GHA is taking orders for Mountain Apples, offering four types of apples—Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Stayman Winesap and Arkansas Black. Pre-paid orders are being taken for a half bushel for $20. Visit www.guineaheritage.org or the Guinea Heritage Association Facebook page for details.

Drop by Buck’s Store Museum any morning between 6 and 8, see any GHA board member, or e-mail info@guineaheritage.org to place an order. Orders will be taken through Monday, Oct. 8. Pickup will be Friday, Oct. 12.

On Saturday, Oct. 13, Buck’s Store Museum will host its first concert with a hometown favorite, Bill Jenkins and The Virginia Mountain Boys at 7 p.m. Jenkins is known to many in the community.
