Getting ready for the Daffodil Festival

Gloucester’s Daffodil Festival Committee unveiled this year’s daffodil print during a ceremony Saturday at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, Ware Neck. Germaine Curry of Carrollton, center, was awarded $1,000 for her winning entry—a depiction of bright yellow daffodils growing along a fence line. Raffle tickets for the first limited edition print of the image will be on sale for $5 each during the festival, which will be held along Main Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 11, and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 12. The print is currently available for purchase for $25 at the Gloucester Information Center on the Court Circle. It will also be available at the Daffodil Store on the Court Circle beginning April 9, and at the festival. Shown here with Curry are Tish Miller, left, chairman of the print committee, and Bob Beyea, chairman of the Daffodil Festival Committee. Photo by Sherry Hamilton ...
