This year’s May Faire will include a pound cake contest, a perennial feature of the Mathews Historical Museum’s annual heritage festival.

The 2024 May Faire will be held on May 4 in and around the Mathews Court Green. The pound cake contest will include a few changes, chairman Karen Doremus said.

Registration is to be submitted before the contest with a deadline of April 19. Forms can be found on the museum’s website, mathewsvamuseum.org; at the Mathews Visitor and Information Center; and at the museum, located at 200 Main Street.

Two categories, traditional and creative, are planned, along with prizes. There is no registration fee.
