GERALD WRAY EVANS

Gerald Wray Evans, 59, of Gloucester, died at VCU/MCV Hospital on April 23, 2017.

Wray served his country in the U.S. Navy, and worked as an Interior Communications Engineer.

He loved the outdoors and for that he enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and traveling. Even though he had no children of his own, his love for children was his greatest enjoyment; which was evident in the quality time spent with his nieces and nephews. He was a man of integrity, honesty and a good friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert V. and Lucy W. Evans.

He is survived by his wife, Neysa Evans; twin sister, Faye Dutton (Billy); sisters, Audrey Rock and Priscilla Bristow; brother, Leonard Jenkins (Lois); mother-in-law, Carmen Rossy; brother-in-law, Nelson Rossy (Mildy); nieces and nephews, and a host of family friends.

Funeral service conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Davis will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment with military honors will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday, April 26, 2017, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
