GERALD SCOTT BARRETT

Gerald Scott Barrett, 48, of Gloucester, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015.

Gerald was born in Massachusetts on Sept. 3, 1967 to Gerald F. and Laura J. Barrett. Gerald was predeceased by his father. Gerald retired from the United States Air Force having served in the States, as well as foreign service. He received numerous awards to include the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with four devices, the Korean Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, among many others. He was presently working with the DoD as a computer information technologist at Fort Lee.

Gerald was a very smart, loyal, and caring man. He enjoyed fishing, boating, anything athletic, and all the professional New England sports teams. He was energetic, loved to laugh, and loved his family more than anything. He was always supportive of his family in whatever decisions they made, and always made them laugh whenever they were upset.  

Gerald will forever be loved by those he has left behind. He is survived by his wife, Terrie L. Barrett; children, Gerald D. Barrett, Stephanie M. Barrett and Jenna D. Barrett; his mother, Laura J. Barrett; grandsons, Alexander and Sammy; four brothers; three sisters; a host of nieces and nephews, and many friends.

We will all miss the joy, love, and laughter he brought into our lives. 

The family greeted friends Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. A celebration of life was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at the funeral home. Inurnment was private. 

In his memory, the family desires memorial contributions be given to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kan. 66675.
