Gerald Raymond Sample, age 85, of Shacklefords, died at Riverside Convalescent Center in West Point, May 7, 2018.

Mr. Sample retired from West Point Paper Mill. Spending time with his family was always first priority.   In addition to crabbing from the pier, cutting grass was another favorite pastime.

Survivors include his soul mate of 32 years, Margaret Brenneman; children, William Sample Sr. (Patti), Rodney Sample (Robin), Jerry Sample, Tina Lawson, Suzitte Halfhill (Danny), Johnna Alexander (Brian); two brothers; 18 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home, Friday, May 11, 2018, from 6-7:30 p.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
