GERALD ‘JERRY’ LEE HALL SR.

Gerald “Jerry” Lee Hall Sr., 80, of Gloucester, passed away at Riverside Hospital on March 21, 2018. He was surrounded by his family.

Jerry grew up in Tazewell, where at 17 he joined the U.S. Navy. He spent 20 years in the service performing his duty around the world mainly as an Aviation Structural Mechanic. After retiring in 1975 he resided in Skidmore, Texas, until he moved back home to Virginia in 1980. 

Jerry was blessed with a large family that provided many years of comfort and he loved spending time with them. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and being out on the trail four-wheeling. He had a love of automobiles and spent many years restoring Volkswagens. He also loved spoiling his dog “Ginger.”

Jerry is survived by his wife, Pamela Hall; children, Gerald Hall Jr. (Annette), Cynthia Broyles (Ronnie), Donald Hall and Todd Hatch; brother, Alan (Alyse); 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Hall; son, Ronald Hall; and great-granddaughter, Erin Hall.

There was a graveside service conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Waclo at Ware Episcopal Church Cemetery, 7825 John Clayton Memorial Highway, Gloucester, Va. 23061, on Monday, March 26, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. with military honors. Friends were asked to assemble at the cemetery. Following the service, the family welcomed friends at Ware Parish House.
