George William Yarborough, 77, of Gloucester Point, born April 30, 1939, died Jan. 7, 2017 at his home.
George served his country proudly in the U.S. Army for 20 years. After his retirement from the military he was a self- employed electrician.
George loved working in his garden and generously shared his vegetables with everyone. He enjoyed birds, was an outdoors man, and was a very good cook. He will be missed by everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Karel Yarborough; daughters, Susan Ward (fiancé Matt) and Angie Hagaman (Larry); grandchildren, Ashley Garner, Connor, Jake and Aubrie; one brother and one sister in Georgia, and friends, Lou and Mike.
Memorial service with military honors, officiated by the Rev. Kevin Thompson, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Inurnment will be private. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 at the funeral home.
