GENEIEVE ‘GENNY’ JACKSON RIVERO

Geneieve “Genny” Jackson Rivero, 57, of Newport News, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 after a long courageous battle with cancer and has joined her beloved Rocky to dance in the sky.

Genny was born in Hampton on April 17, 1962, and attended Menchville High School in Newport News.  She made a career in the Automotive Business as a Title Clerk later moving into Administration.

Genny was kind, caring and passionate for family and friends. She enjoyed TV (e.g., “Survivor”), steaks on the grill, socializing, especially around the fire pit of which she was always the life of the party. She also had a great love for animals, flowers, the country, fresh honey from the neighbor, and beautiful sunsets on the water. Genny had a one-of-a-kind laugh that was contagious and recognizable anywhere. She will be missed dearly by everyone, but we have peace knowing that Genny is not suffering in pain any longer.

Genny was preceded in death by the love of her life, Joaquin “Rocky” Rivero, and parents, Arthur Wayne Jackson and Martha McQuillen Porfilio.

She is survived by three brothers, Wayne Jackson (Barbara), William “Billy” Jackson, Robert Jackson (Theresa); brothers-in-law, Ernest Rivero (Jen), Richard Rivero (Chrissie); sisters-in-law, Laura Rivero Wilson (Tommy), Maria Rivero Shinn (Marty); nephews, Oliver Rivero, Jeremiah Jackson; nieces, Olivia Rivero, Ivy Rivero, Hailey Jackson; fur babies, Callie and Puppy; many cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.

A celebration of life service, conducted by the Rev. Carol Bookwalter, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 2101 Mark Pine Road, Hayes, Va. 23072.
