Genealogy workshop

The Genealogy Resource Workshop sponsored by the Augustine Warner Chapter NSDAR was a big success. Held in the Community Room of the Gloucester Library, Main Street Center, on April 20, attendees learned about resources for family history research here in Gloucester County and online. Presenters were Elsa Verbyla of the Gazette-Journal; Hamilton Williams of the Guinea Heritage Association, Gloucester Genealogical Society of Virginia and the Watermen’s Museum; Kiana Wilkerson of the Menokin Foundation; Susie Dewing, Virginia State Registrar of the DAR; Barbara Murphree of the Gloucester County Clerk’s Office; Beverly Rich of the LDS Church, and Gloucester Library Administrative Assistant Dolores Breen. Kinship was discovered during the day. Here, Jim Halabuk, Susie Dewing, Beverly Rich, Tricia Bynum and Della Garrett, from left, discovered they are related.
