GENE M. TODD JR.

Gene M. Todd Jr. of Gloucester, born on July 13, 1955, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 30, 2023. He was raised in Aberdeen, Maryland. Gene graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1973 and joined the United States Navy in 1977 then becoming a Seabee. He went to boot camp in Orlando, Florida then was stationed in Gulfport, Mississippi. His duty stations included two tours to Diego Garcia, Cheatham Annex Base, HM14 in Norfolk, Little Creek Amphibious Base, Andros Island in the Bahamas (where he met Gloria, who became his wife two years later). Gene retired as a Chief Construction Mechanic in December 1994.

After retirement from the service in 1994, he went back to college and received his degree in elementary education from Christopher Newport University and taught at Kraft Elementary School until he medically retired from teaching.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Gloria; his sons, Gavin and his wife Tasha with their two children Cadence and Silas, with another little Todd expected to arrive in late March 2024; Gregory and his wife Corey and their two children Eleanor and Kieran. He is also survived by his brother, Mark Todd and his wife Sharon and their daughter Sara; sister, Karen Dillello and her husband Pete, their sons Alex and his wife Jessica and Nicholas and his wife Samantha and son Leonardo, and his younger sister Lisa.

Gene loved his family, friends, his country, and also the Seabees. He was a very loving and loyal husband, father and military man.

Military funeral service will be held on December 1 at 2 p.m. at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia, with a reception at the Bold Mariner Brewing Company in Norfolk, Virginia from 4-6 p.m. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
