The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office conducted a death investigation on Sunday morning, briefly closing off a parking lot at Fox Mill Centre until the investigation had been resolved.

“There is no evidence of any danger to the community,” a social media post from the agency on Sunday morning stated. “Gloucester Sheriff’s Office investigators have consulted with the Tidewater Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to further investigate the cause of death. The decedent’s next of kin has been notified, and their family is in our thoughts.”

“Our agency routinely responds to death investigations that are not criminal in nature, and in those cases, we do not share details about the decedent or the manner/cause of death,” GCSO Lt. Steven H. Perry said on Monday. “We will continue to share more details about deaths attributed to violations of criminal law, but in this case, there is nothing more that we can provide.”
