GCPS holds new teacher orientation

Greeted by cheerleaders, drummers and Gloucester High School Renaissance Leadership, the 32 new teachers to Gloucester County Public Schools received an exciting welcome to orientation Monday morning at Page Middle School.
“Welcome to Gloucester County Public Schools,” said superintendent of schools Dr. Anthony Vladu in his opening remarks to the new teachers in the Page cafeteria as they enjoyed their breakfast.
Vladu spoke on a teacher’s power to engage students and have a positive impact on their pupils. He also spoke on the importance of teachers taking time for themselves.
“It’s important that we maintain a work-life balance,” he said. “The job is hard.”
“I wish you a hardy welcome to Gloucester County Public Schools,” said Gloucester County School Board chair Leonne Arsenovic. “We’re delighted that you’ve chosen to work here in Gloucester.”
