Gazette-Journal launches new podcast

The Gloucester-Mathews Gazette-Journal has started a new podcast—“Before the Bylines”—as another source of community news and interviews.
The podcast is hosted by Gazette-Journal reporters Tyler Bass and Melany Slaughter as they take a dive into covering the community on a deeper level. To date, Before the Bylines has featured conversations with Gloucester Housing Partnership chairman Bob Tschirhart and Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society CEO April Martinez.
In its debut episode, Bass has an in-depth discussion with Tschirhart about recent home repairs that the GHP has completed for low-income Gloucester residents, which includes plumbing repairs, roof leaks and building ramps.
Tschirhart also explains in the episode how the nonprofit is catching up on interior projects after being mostly barred from doing so because of the spread of COVID-19.
This first episode was released last week, a few days ahead of the Gazette-Journal’s “Home Improvement” special section.
