Gazette-Journal hawker Joey Bollinger sells a newspaper to David Hudgins at M&M Building Supply, Mathews.

Joey Bollinger of Gloucester has been the Mathews hawker for the Gloucester-Mathews Gazette-Journal for over two years.

“I’ve developed a great customer base with great customers, several of whom are usually waiting for me to arrive,” said Bollinger. “I’ve been very blessed to be able to set up at M&M Building Supply where the owner has been very supportive of my business. I genuinely care about my customers and they always show that they genuinely care about me.”

Bollinger has a history in sales. He has been the top popcorn salesman two years running in Cub Scout Pack 175 where he learned to interact with strangers and developed good customer service skills. A rising sophomore at Gloucester High School, Bollinger is the grandson of Regina and Eddie Smith, who also work at the newspaper.
