Garden Week tour attracts 550 visitors

About 550 people took the opportunity Saturday to visit the two private homes featured on the Garden Club of Gloucester’s annual House and Garden Tour. "It was a very successful tour," said event chairman Patty Rosenberg. "By all reports, everybody had a good time and thought it was very interesting. All of my reports were fantastic."

The 2012 tour took visitors inside Glen Roy on the Ware River and nearby Burgh Westra on the North River. Visitors were also invited to tour the diverse teaching garden at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs and other local sites of interest.

Rosenberg said despite overcast skies, the shuttle buses that took visitors between the two featured homes and the parking area at Brent and Becky’s stayed busy and full all day. "We noticed that people stayed at the houses longer than usual," she added, as they enjoyed the sweeping lawns and waterfront views.
