Members of the Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad responded to a detached garage fully involved in fire last Thursday night just after 8 o’clock in Wicomico. The fire was extinguished quickly, according to AVFRS spokesperson Robert Parlett. However, all of its contents, including a vehicle, were a total loss. AVFRS responded with one engine, an ambulance and 20 members. Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc., responded with mutual aid and the Gloucester Sheriff’s Office provided traffic control.
