A fire of undetermined origin destroyed a garage on David Drive in the Clay Bank area of Gloucester on Tuesday, April 14. According to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad Chief J.D. Clements, firefighters received a call for a woods fire around 4 p.m., but while en route were told it was a garage. When they arrived at the scene several minutes later, they found heavy fire and smoke showing, and the garage was destroyed, along with a large number of tools, shop equipment, lawn equipment, a truck bed, and a motorcycle. The house, located about 150 feet away, was never threatened, he said. Responding to the call were three engines, a rescue truck, a tanker and a medic unit, along with 16 firefighters and two medics from Gloucester; a tanker and three firefighters from Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue, and one Mathews firefighter....
