Galen H. Lutz of Saluda, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021. He was the widower of Mary Jane Lutz, and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.
Galen was a retired superintendent from the Virginia Department of Transportation, a member of Forest Chapel United Methodist Church, a Pilgrim with the Gloucester Moose Lodge #886, and also a member of the American Legion Post #82 in Saluda.
Survived by his son, Carlyle Lutz (Sheri); a daughter, Janet Leigh West; a sister, Eileen Scott; nine grandchildren, Alan, Chase, Christopher, Tiffany, Matthew, Tamara, Brady, Gavin and Connor, and also 12 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda, where the Gloucester Moose Lodge did a memorial service.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30, at Mount Jackson Cemetery, Mount Jackson, Va.
