Gabriel Jack Elias Jr., 73, of Hayes, died Dec. 19, 2015. 

A native of Gloucester, he was the son of the late Gabriel Jack Elias Sr. and Dorothy Jenkins Elias, born June 7, 1942. Gabe retired as a security guard from Williamsburg and was a member of the Lighthouse Worship Center.

He enjoyed woodworking, was a master mechanic, and had coached the Guinea Raiders softball team. He was a man of great strength who loved his family and never hesitated to do for them. Gabe will be dearly missed.

He was also preceded in death by daughter, Jacqueline Elias McCloud.

He is survived by his wife, Mary S. Elias; daughter, Jennifer Hudson; son, Daniel Elias (Jennifer); brothers, Gary Elias (Dianne) and Ricky Elias, and grandchildren, Hailey, Hayden, Hunter, Jake, Stephen, Hannah and Holley.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Ken Cramer was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family greeted friends from 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at the funeral home.
