G.I. author pens children’s book series

J.S. Clawson of Gwynn’s Island has published his first two children’s books, and they’re part of a series titled “The Hawk and the Hummingbird.”
In the books, Ruby the Ruby-throated Hummingbird and Red the Red-tailed Hawk are the best of friends. They live on a small island in the middle of a bay and share adventures and solve mysteries with their island friends, including Eric the Inchworm, Freddie the Fiddler Crab, Harry the Hoot Owl, and more.
“The Hawk and the Hummingbird and the Hurricane” tells a story of “survival, friendship and resilience,” according to a quote in the release from KidlioMag, while “The Hawk and the Hummingbird and the Clock” is “filled with mystery, magic and curiosity,” along with a subtle environmental message.
Both books are published by Mermaid Cove Publishing on Gwynn’s Island and are available in two sizes: 8” x 10” full color hardcover for $19.99 or 6” x 9” paperback for $6.99 each. They range in length from 82 to 98 pages.
