Future museum tour

John Caramia, right, chair of the Mathews Historical Museum, explains proposed use of spaces inside the building at 198 Main Street in the future planned museum. Caramia and members of the museum board hosted a reception on Sept. 10 for residents who have expressed interest in the museum’s plans. The building was erected in 1936 and, going back in time from present to past, formerly housed Dilly Dally Emporium, the Craftsman Shop, Bassett Furniture, Western Auto, VEPCO, Be-Jo Bowling Alley, and Fox Automobiles, among others. ...
