Funds approved for Page Ball Field Project

The Gloucester Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a request from the school board to fund additional appropriation for the Page Ball Field Project. The bids for the project came in over the budgeted amounts set. To finish the project, the schools requested an additional $200,000.

Also, during Tuesday’s meeting, which was held in the colonial courthouse, the board discussed whether to accept or deny funding under the new Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund Award. Under the award, Gloucester could be given $7,254,411 with half of that amount being available to the county now. The second half would be available in 2022.

If accepted, the board can return the money if none of the projects they would fund with the recovery money are found eligible.
