Fundraising effort underway for Yorktown business destroyed in fire

A fundraising effort is underway for a Yorktown business destroyed in a fire Friday night.

Atlantic Marine Service, which is owned by Bill Every of Gloucester, went up in flames because a boat motor shorted out, igniting the boat’s fuel tank inside the shop. As a result, the steel structure is compromised and most of the belongings inside are unsalvageable. Atlantic Marine Service will be starting from scratch as it rebuilds its inventory of tools and equipment.

Every’s stepson Tyler McClellan, also of Gloucester, has organized an online fund-raiser through GoFundMe with a goal of raising $100,000. As of Tuesday, approximately $1,600 had been raised. To donate, visit www.gofundme.com/f/rebuild-atlantic-marine-after-devastating-fire.
