From a great line of cooks: Rose Marie Smith, talented in the kitchen and elsewhere

Whether she is at her organ serving Navy and Coast Guard Chapel families or in her own kitchen creating one of her family’s delicious dishes, Rose Marie Smith’s results will ensure a pleasant experience.

“I shared a love for music with my father and took piano and organ lessons early in life,” said Rose Marie, who lives in lower Gloucester. In playing the organ for the military she says, “It is a pleasure to be a part of these communities and share in the service these men and women give to our country.”

“I enjoy cooking and baking as I come from a line of great cooks who inspired me as I grew up watching and learning their skills. My mother (sister to Buck Rowe, deceased) learned her meal planning and cooking skills from her mother. Most of her baking skills, which included her famous Par-ker House rolls, Cinnamon rolls, Yulakaga (Norwegian Christmas Bread) and pies came from my great-grandmother ‘Dee’ who immigrated to Chicago from Norway at the age of 18.”
