Friday is the deadline for those interested in applying for the interim appointment on the Mathews County School Board to fill the remainder of member Jeanice Sadler’s term.

Interested applicants residing in the county are invited to complete a brief application available in the Mathews School Board Office, P.O. Box 369, 63 Church Street, Mathews, Va. 23109 or via the division website www.mathews.k12.va.us. Applications must be received no later than 2 p.m.

A public hearing on the vacancy will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30 in the Mathews High School media center, with an appointment expected on Dec. 14. Any inquiries should be directed to superintendent of schools Nancy Welch at 804-725-3909.
