Freeman to speak at Belle Isle State Park

The Friends of Belle Isle State Park will welcome author Cindy L. Freeman to the Lancaster County park from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, as the group continues its Virginia Writers Series.

Described as a “literary late bloomer,” Freeman didn’t get around to writing her first novel until after retiring from a long career in music education and music ministry, but she’s been writing poems, stories, and journal entries since her youth, a release stated. Along with being a novelist, she is also a blogger, award-winning essayist, and an editor for High Tide Publications.

The program cost is $10 per person (payable by cash or check to the Friends of Belle Isle) and includes coffee, tea, and light refreshments.Doors open at 2 p.m. Lecture begins at 2:30, followed by time with the author.
