The Mathews County Little League will hold two free softball clinics next month. J.J. Ashberry will be the instructor, assisted by league coaches and members of the Mathews High School junior varsity team.

The first week will be Aug. 7-10 for ages 7-10. The second week will be Aug. 14-17 for ages 11-13. If family vacations interfere with your child’s age group, just participate in the other week, a release stated.

Each evening session will start at 6 and finish by 8:30 and will be held at the Mathews County Little League field in Hudgins. The clinics will focus on agility and conditioning, fielding, throwing, base running, hitting, bunting and catcher workouts.

A parent must be present the first night of each week to sign up the participant. i
