A free lunch program is currently underway at Bethel and Abingdon elementary schools. The USDA program is held from noon through 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Aug. 1 at the two schools and is open to any child under the age of 18.

It is asked that persons e-mail or call Leann Shelton to reserve a spot, so there will be enough food available. She can be reached at prodigirl@cox.net or 693-1698. Volunteers are also sought on those dates, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Anyone interested should contact Shelton. Those under 18 wishing to volunteer must be accompanied by an adult.
