A funeral for Frederick P. “Butch” Atkins of Hayes, was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church, Ordinary. He died Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Cynthia L. Atkins; daughters, Dawn Stanford, Becky Pumphrey, and Heather Atkins; son, Derick Atkins, and eight grandchildren.

Atkins was retired from his contracting business, and was a member and trustee of Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church, Ordinary. He transferred his membership in Lions International from Richmond to Gloucester when he moved to the county.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Garry Livermon. Burial followed in Groves Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Hogg Funeral Home and Crematory, Gloucester Point, was in charge.
