FRANKLIN GRAYSON WILLIAMS JR.

Franklin Grayson Williams Jr. was taken from us in a tragic accident on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021. He was the firstborn to Franklin Grayson Williams and Nancy Gary Williams on Oct. 25, 1945 in Newport News, Va. He lived most of his life in York County and Gloucester, retiring from Amoco Oil Refinery. Grayson Jr. was a presence with his gregarious nature, easy to laugh and quick to care. He loved watching football, time on the farm and on the water, and talking to any and every one! He truly never met a stranger!

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary C. Williams, and the mother of his children, June Bittner Williams.

He was survived by his daughter, Alease W. Tillage (Tim); son, Russell S. Williams (Erin); grandchildren, Sam and Sawyer Hutson, James and Jenna Williams; siblings, Kathryn W. Jones (Bill), Mark R. Williams, and Elizabeth W. Pratt (Bull); sister-in-law, Karen Marsh-Williams; special aunt, Susan Gary; cousins, nieces and nephews, and his longtime companion, Sandra Webb, and her daughter, Ellen.

Due to the pandemic, the family will plan a Celebration of Life when it is safer to gather together. Donations in Grayson’s name may be made to the Mathews Rescue Squad, 84 Cricket Hill Road, Hudgins, Va. 23076 or to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O. Box 385, Gloucester, Va. 23061. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, is assisting the family.
