FRANK ALLEN PLEVA

Son, brother, and friend, Frank Allen Pleva of Mathews, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 22, 2019. He was 67. 

Born Dec. 30, 1951 in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Ted W. Pleva of Harvey, West Virginia, and Mary A. Perry of Norfolk.   

Graduating in 1975 from VPI (Virginia Tech) with a degree in Urban Affairs, he worked as a Planner for Fairfax and Northampton counties, was Director of Planning for Cape Charles, County Administrator for Mathews, King William, and Lancaster counties. 

A loyal, loving, and caring son and brother, he was also a devoted friend to many he met. He enjoyed genealogy, American history, and was an avid sports fan. He closely followed the Virginia Tech Hokies, Notre Dame, and Cleveland Browns. He attended Hokies home football games and was a member of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association and Athletic Association. He loved his mom’s lasagna and fudge, and his dad’s cabbage rolls. 

Frank was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his sister, Cathy and her husband Bob Stash of New Bern, North Carolina, as well as uncles, aunts, and cousins. He leaves behind many beloved friends. 

Frank’s family wishes to express their deep appreciation to everyone for the friendship, kindness, companionship and hospitality they showed him over the years. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 8464 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk. A graveside service will be on Saturday, March 30 at 3 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby Street, Norfolk.
