Frances Louise Diggs, age 72, of Mathews, died Dec. 8, 2012.

God looked around his garden and saw an empty space. He then looked down upon this earth and saw Frances’ smiling face. God’s garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. For unknown reason he took Frances up to Heaven and shielded her with Grace. It broke our hearts to see her go but she did not go alone, for part of us went with her, the day God called her home.

She is survived by her husband, Howard (Marty) Diggs; one son, Martin Lee Diggs of Florida; three daughters, Tammy Ward and Jayne Wainwright of Florida, and Amy Knight of Hampton; four brothers, Archie Leigh, Bobby Leigh, Fred Leigh and Henry Leigh; 20 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Providence Cemetery, Miles, Va.

Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, is in charge of the arrangements.
