FRANCES CLAYTON HOGGE

Frances Clayton Hogge, 80, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully May 31, 2014 at her home.

Frances was a 1951 graduate of Botetourt High School and graduated in 1954 from Stuart Circle Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church and a lifelong resident on Wilson Creek in Gloucester.

Frances had a rewarding career as a Registered Nurse. She worked as an RN for Riverside for a number of years, and retired as Nursing Coordinator at Sanders Nursing Home.

Frances loved people, loved to laugh and loved to make people laugh. She was a kind, caring person who made caring for others a priority. Frances was dearly loved and will be missed by so many.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Hersey E. Hogge.

She is survived by her children, Mark Evans Hogge (Robin), Connie Maxwell (Walter Gardner) and J. Bentley Hogge (Brenda); grandchildren, Ben and Tara Hogge, Casey Hogge, Christopher Hogge, and Sierra Hogge.

A graveside funeral service, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Waclo, was held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Bellamy United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday, June 3, 2014, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
