Frances “Anne” Forrest (Baber), 84, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2017 in the arms of her loving “girls” in the comfort of her own home.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bobbie Baber and Russell B. Forrest; her mother, Victoria Stubblefield; her father, Lester Stubblefield; sisters, Delores Carter, and Katherine Stokes.
She was survived by her beloved daughter and caregiver, Vickie Baber Lyell; grandchildren, Lindsay Smith (David), Christopher Lyell (Kristin); sons, William Baber (Cathy), Lester Baber (Cheryl); grandsons, Bill Baber, Jared Baber; granddaughter, Morgan Miller; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Nash, and Lindsey.
She was a proud member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 40, of 50 years, a loving 10-year volunteer of Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, and a 14-year employee of Walmart, where she made many fond memories and many great friends, including Janis Slaughter. She also had a dear friend, Ann Harwood, that she called “the other Vickie.”
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Gloucester.
