Fourth graders say what they are thankful for

Lee-Jackson Elementary School teacher Amy Ashberry and her fourth grade students recently took the time to write down what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving holiday. Here are their thoughts.


My fourth graders and I would like to take the time to thank the Gazette-Journal for the newspapers provided to our classrooms each week, and for the opportunity to share what we are thankful for with your readers!

I am very thankful for many things like food, water, and a roof over my head, and I am most indebted to the people who have helped the United States of America, the military—the people that protect me and my friends and family. I am also indebted to my grandfather. He was in World War II. He was the manager of Texaco. He made sure that the oil got to England so they could bomb Germany. I am very indebted to him and the people who served with him.
