Four apply for vacancy on Gloucester School Board

The Gloucester County School Board received four letters from registered voters residing in the Gloucester Point Magisterial District who are interested in being considered for appointment to the vacant seat on the board. That seat was held for 24 years by Jean E. Pugh, who died in September.

The board received letters of interest from Troy M. Andersen, Stuart A. Bunting, Brian Nichols and Tracey Ellis Turner. The applicants were allowed to include letters of support from other registered voters in their district, and the deadline for making application was Friday.

Andersen, a Gloucester native and a parent of three children, has worked for the U.S. Department of Defense in various capacities for the last nine years. He recently received the Air Force Association’s Program Manager of the Year Award and in 2009 was the Air Combat Command’s William A. Jump Memorial Award recipient.
