Fortner, Lindsay to play in VHSCA All-Star baseball game

Recent Gloucester High School graduates Trey Fortner and Brett Lindsay have been selected to play in the Virginia High School Coaches Association’s All-Star Baseball Game scheduled for Monday at James Madison University. 

Fortner and Lindsay were two of only four Peninsula District baseball players selected for the all star game by coaches from around the state. Fortner will play outfield and Lindsay in the infield for the all-star Blue team.

Fortner came to Gloucester after his freshman year at Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach, where he was a starter for the Lions baseball team.

At GHS, the three-sport athlete was named to the first team All Conference 10, All 5A South Region and VHSL Group 5A All State baseball teams as an outfielder. While patrolling center field, he hit .500 for the 2017 season and .536 in conference play.
