Lorraine Forrest of Port Haywood will serve on the Mathews School Board during 2022.
Members approved her one-year interim appointment by a 3-0 vote during Tuesday night’s monthly meeting, which was held in the Mathews High School media center.
She replaces Jeanice Sadler, who is moving out of the county and announced her resignation in October. Running Tuesday’s meeting was vice chairman Desmond Smith, who was filling in for chair Linda Hodges, who was in attendance at a special budget work session earlier in the afternoon, but not present for the regular meeting.
Other than Smith, also voting to approve Forrest’s appointment were John Priest and Dr. Bambi Thompson. Tuesday’s meeting was the last for Thompson, who is stepping down after one term.
